Your Role in a Nutshell:
- Manage and provide strong leadership to a crew of 2-3 carpenters
- Manage all aspects of the day-to-day construction process and ensure required on-site work is completed (eg. framing, trim carpentry, drywall, insulation, etc).
- Work closely with the Project Manager to establish and maintain schedules.
- Oversee subcontractor work
- Communicate progress updates with all clients as necessary and address any questions or concerns that they may have.
- Complete site walkthrough with various stakeholders as needed,
- Ensure that projects are completed within scope, on schedule and ensure all safety requirements are being met on sites.
- Assist in the development of procedures and Standard Operation Procedures.
- Keep tools, equipment, job sites, and vehicles organized and clean.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in residential renovations
- Experience leading a team
- Trade certification in carpentry, ideally a Red Seal or equivalent experience
- Significant framing and carpentry experience
- Knowledge of Construction Management (CRM) Systems (knowledge of Buildertrend is an asset but not required)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Completion of a college diploma or trade school preferred.
- Competent using computer programs such as Excel & Outlook
